We are building a traditional boathouse with longitudinal beams and interlocking log rafters. You are welcome to stop by and follow the work.
Gamslett fishing farm offers insight into the fishing-farmer culture that was widespread in Northern Troms for several hundred years. Visit the exhibition showing the life and people of Gamslett.

Exhibition and café
This summer, the exhibition “The Reindeer Pasture Commission of 1913–1915, Revisited” from the Sámi Archive is on display. Photos and documents from the archive of the commission that mapped reindeer herding’s use of land across national borders.
The Skibotn Market Square conveys the history of the traditional market, which is mentioned in written sources as early as 1571.

Holmenes sjøsamiske gård, Birtavarre in Kåfjord

Café
Holmenes Coastal Sámi farm bears witness to life on a Coastal Sámi farm from 1850 up to the 1930s.

Maursund gård, Kågen in Skjervøy

Open café by the local Kalen Association on Saturdays from August 8th to 29th, 11 AM–2 PM
Exhibition and café
Maursund gård tells of a prosperous era of trading and freight boat traffic. Here you get an insight into the local trade history and the people who have lived on the farm.

The exhibition Møter – Encounters – Deaivvadit – Kohtaamissii takes you on a journey from coast to mountain plateau through the history of Northern Troms.

The exhibition Bjørnespor (Bear Tracks) shows how bear and human have lived side by side in Northern Troms for 5,000 years. The bear has been feared, but also respected. It has inspired stories, beliefs, and myths.
